CLARKTOR TUG

25JUN86
The refurbished Clarktor tug was handed over to QAM President, Dick Hitchins, by Qantas Airport Manager, Ken Pike, in a small ceremony at the International Terminal at Brisbane Airport. Also present and representing Qantas Engineering was John Foran. Prior to donating the vehicle to QAM it was overhauled and repainted in the new Qantas livery. The overhaul included a new battery, starter motor and air filter and the seat was sent out for reupholstering. The donation was facilitated by Qantas Maintenance Manager, Brian Horsey, and Terminal Services Manager, John Brand.
The tug was subsequently transported to Ken Woodrow's residence at Raceview Avenue, Hendra. Later it was trucked to Caloundra on a semi-trailer car transporter. Since its arrival at Caloundra the Clarktor has always been a working exhibit.
