On or about 18 October 1946, this plate was fixed to VH-ANR to record its conversion by Australian National Airways. The aircraft type shown on the plate has been retrospectively changed to "C50". What it was originally is not known but the aircraft had been classified by the USAAF as a C-49H-DO serial number 41-1944. This serial was contrived from the manufacturer's serial number 1944.
